Commerce
In the early days, the main problem was shortage of students. To overcome this, the teachers decided to go to the neighboring villages, at the beginning of the academic year, to persuade the students to join the college. In order to attract students, in those days, we offered free lodging and concessional boarding to them in addition to books. Even then, students were reluctant to join our college. Those who joined had no academic background and were mostly first generation literates with poor academic score.
In order to improve the academic performance of the students, it was decided to engage extra periods daily for all the three B.Com. classes. This tradition we are following to this day.
